Our History
Solarplacard is woman owned and family operated. Our company was born when our CFO, Mike, purchased solar in 2011. On the day of inspection, the system almost failed. When the inspector asked for a placard, Mike walked inside to his wife’s trophy and awards business, and used the laser engraver to make the exact placard being requested. The installer asked to partner with us, and Solarplacard was born.
It was then that we realized how big of an impact we could have, to produce quality placards with a fast turnaround time to get solar inspections passed and streamline the ability for customers to save with their solar systems on and running. We were excited to be a small but crucial part of creating a solar energy solution.
With Mike having retired from 35 years as a fire fighter, he took his expertise in fire safety and electrical building codes, and combined it with the family’s 45 years of engraving experience. Jennifer, Mike’s daughter, took over the business in 2015, and has run it since.

Our home operated business provides us the ability to run 3 laser engravers 24/7. Our CEO Jennifer, gives all customers her cell phone for direct contact, and can make executive decisions for customer inquiries without delay. Our 45 years of experience with laser engravers has given us the ability to fix all laser machine issues internally, so down time is a non-issue.
As a family operated business, we are able to operate year round, open Monday through Friday, except UPS closure days. We pride ourselves on our customer service and personal relationship with those we work with.
